That's how it all started ~
Samira always knew that if she wants something and can't afford it or it doesn't even exist yet, she'll just make it herself!
And of course that's not easy, you have to read up on thousands of things and learn a million techniques! Punching, leather processing, soldering, hammering, graphic programs, sewing, screen printing... Everything you need :---)
That's why Samira had all sorts of things on offer: backpacks and bags, porcelain pearl necklaces, custom-made rings and screen-printed fabrics. The focus was, as it still is today, on geometric patterns, cool shapes and colors that put you in a good mood - simply 'a cute color' (even if it wasn't called that back then!)

This is how jewelry came about ~
Before 'a cute color' became what it is today, it was the project for Samira's bachelor's thesis. The goal was to build a brand with colorful products for young and old. Goal achieved!
Samira had loads of ideas and even more ambitions: she wanted to design and produce colorful bags and textiles. But in Germany, that's not easy in small quantities (and with social aspirations) and unfortunately not profitable. So she realized: if she wasn't going to do textiles, then she definitely wanted to do jewelry!
For Samira, jewelry has always been something special because earrings and necklaces are size-inclusive! And jewelry is simply something beautiful: we adorn ourselves with it, express our personality, bring color and glitter into our everyday lives and also like to attract attention with it ✨

This is how acrylic came about ~
If you scroll all the way down on Instagram, you can see that 'a cute color' jewelry has changed quite a bit since 2016. In the past, 'a cute color' had a different name and the materials consisted of ceramic, brass and colorful gemstones.
Until she discovered acrylic in 2020 and immediately fell in love: so many colors, so many ideas! She finally had the opportunity to cut her own shapes and create her own designs in a completely creative way.
At first she had her designs lasered outside of the company, but eventually the time came and ... she needed her own laser cutter! Since then we have been able to produce our designs entirely in the studio and are no longer dependent on external companies.

This is how 'a cute color' has grown since then ~
In the beginning, Samira worked solo: at home in the living room, in a shared room, a small desk space in Sankt Pauli, then in 2021 the first small studio of her own in Hamburg Barmbek, then in 2022 a larger studio for a larger team, then in 2023 even more space... until we finally arrived in our dream space in Hamburg Altona in 2024 😍
Since 2021, Samira is no longer alone in her small business and from two onwards you are already a team! From this point on, our small women's team has continued to grow ❤️
